October 2, 2012 - Convergence Harp & Bowl at Lee University

This evening, students at Lee University who comprise a prayer and intercession ministry called "Convergence" met to pray for faculty, staff, and the community of Lee University www.leeuniversity.edu. A number of faculty members came to receive blessing and prayer from the Lee students. Others, who could not be in attendance emailed various prayer requests to the student leaders and prayers were offered for them. It proved to be a  beautiful time of prayer and fellowship and warmed our hearts with the love and compassion of the Lord.

What followed was a prayer time the students call "Harp & Bowl," a model of prayer and intercession using music and prophetic song to move the prayer time to a deeper level of intercession and worship. This model is similar to one used at the Kansas City International House of Prayer, IHOP http://www.ihopkc.org/prayerroom, as it is fondly called. During this time a couple of students using keyboard and guitar and their voices, lifted praise and worship to the Lord in the rise and fall of Spirit-led worship and song. It was very beautiful and inspiring. I have desired to be a part of this level of worship and prayer for a long time and am so thankful to the Lord for leading me to connect with Convergence. The students are passionate for prayer and worship and have added the dimension of Mission to their agenda. Small groups of Convergence student leaders not only pray and worship, but they focus on doing community mission projects or even travel to nations to do mission. This is an exciting and expanding ministry of the Lee University students. We all were blessed to enter in to worship,  and intercessory prayer and to fellowship with the students.

May the Lord continue to bless this ministry in the days ahead.
